First Evening in Vienna

Our magical run with the weather continues – a bit of rain earlier in the day but clear skies for our night arrival in Vienna.

We quickly checked in and walked to St Anne’s Church for a ‘Classics Exclusive’ concert.

This is a small but very beautiful church and the ensemble was equally so – small and beautiful!

A string quartet played Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart, Puccini and Rossini to a small and enthusiastic audience.

We then strolled (quite aimlessly) around the pretty streets and chose a restaurant to have our late dinner.

We went Viennese: Mr Jax with the Tafelspitz and me a Wiener schnitzel – both too big for us.

Now we are about to head out to mass at the Hofburg Imperial Court Chapel – the only way to hear the Vienna Boys Choir in January.
